Order of the Arrow Candidates

Congradulations! Your Unit has selected you for the Order of the Arrow. What next?

In order to become a member of the Order of the Arrow you must attend an induction weekend this year.

Ordeal weekends start on Friday night and end on Sunday morning. (unless otherwise stated) The Ordeal flyer will have the specific dates and location of the event. You must register for an Ordeal to attend. Please no walk-ins.

The following is a list of items you will want to bring to your Ordeal:

  • Full Scout Uniform
  • Part A & B of your physical
  • Sleeping Bag
  • Ground Cloth
  • Warm Jacket
  • Work Gloves
  • Water Bottle
  • Outdoor Esentials

The following are optional: Tent, Extra Socks, Flashlight, Rain Gear

You should NOT bring any of the following items: Food, Radios, Video Games.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I pay for my Ordeal in advance?
You must pre-register for the Ordeal to attend. The registration link will be listed on the main page of this website.
How much does it cost to attend the Ordeal?
The cost of the Ordeal for Candidates is usually $50.00. This includes all of the meals on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Please eat well before you arrive on Friday. There is no dinner served that night. The flyer will have the exact cost.
Should I register in advance?
Yes, you must register in advance. This allows us to plan out your meals and supplies.
When should I arrive for the Ordeal?
You should arrive for the Ordeal between 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday evening.
When is the Ordeal over?
The Ordeal is over on Sunday morning. (unless otherwise stated)
I’m under 18. If I forget my medical form is that OK?
NO! You will not be allowed to participate in the Ordeal if you do not have a medical part A & B form that is signed by your parent.
I’m over 21, do I still need a medical form?
Yes, however, you won’t need to get your mommy to sign it.
Do I need to bring any money to the Ordeal?
All of the meals are included in the cost of the Ordeal. However, after you have completed your Ordeal, there is a Trading Post that will be open. They have stuff like patches, assorted OA items, and snacks for sale.
I have a special construction skill. Should I let someone know?
Yes, please let the Lodge leadership know. This allows us to better plan for our Ordeals.
